Walkin Shower Vs shower/tub combo

Hello! We are building a new home with a jack and Jill and a full bath upstairs for or three kids. We will have a tub in the master bath downstairs as well as a walkin shower. We are planning to use a solid surface (most likely cultures marble) for all rubs and showers. (1) is a mid size walkin shower less costly than a shower/tub combo unit if cultured marble is the chosen material? (2) are there down sides to using two showers upstairs with no bathtub on the second floor? I am bias because I do not take baths.

Steve Martin's new play METEOR SHOWER will be coming to Broadway's Booth Theatre this fall starring Emmy and Peabody Award- winning comedian Amy Schumer , Tony- winner Laura Benanti , another Emmy and Peabody Award-winner Keegan-Michael Key, and Alan Tudyk.
