AMAZING rooms. - Review of Residence Inn Bath Brunswick Area, Bath, ME
The rooms are amazing. We were in a two bedroom, two bath suite. I don't know how many people the hotel lets stay in one room, but this could sleep 8. There was a king bed, pull out couch, large desk area, large bathroom with HUGE shower, dressing area in one of the bedrooms. The other bedroom had a queen bed with huge bathroom and other HUGE shower. The living area had another pull out couch, so two beds and two pull out couches equals sleeping 8. Not a great room if you need a tub. We did not pull out the couches to know if these are comfortable beds. The couches are nice to look at and awful to sit on...typical of hotels. The two desk chairs, desk in master bedroom and living room are expensive, nice comfortable chairs. You could do work all day in these chairs. The desks are nice too, with lots of outlets on top of the desks. The lighting and decor in all the rooms, actually whole hotel is very, very nice, well thought out. Shower heads are great, bathrooms over all are very nice. Three swiveling, flat screen, HD TV's in the room, all work well. The beds are beyond comfortable and linens very nice. Ask for feather pillows, we did not,and the other kind of pillows too fat and hard. There is ample closet and storage space in every room. I can't believe how big these rooms were. The staff, lobby, breakfast, outside sitting area are all excellent. The little market great too.
The cons. The pool is not that big, not that warm. And the pool area needs housekeeping attention more often. We were there from Fri-Sun on school vacation week and other than towel replenishment, this was the ONLY service the pool got. How could I tell? The same stuff on the floor of the pool room was there the entire stay. This is a public area of the hotel and especially on school vacation weeks needs to be cleaned at least once a day. The area needs to be vacuumed and mopped and the pool vacuumed nightly. oh there is NO hot tub.
Our room had some housekeeping issues too; the inside of the fridge was not clean, the kitchen floor was not clean ( kudos though for a linoleum type floor and not carpet), and some dishes in the cupboard not clean. The unclean dishes might be because the dishwasher breaker trips each time the dishwasher is on, especially if you try to run the microwave at the same time. I had to reset the breaker to run the dishwasher six times, to run the dishwasher two times! UNACCEPTABLE that a hotel that is BRAND new, modern and supposed to be efficient, has such electrical issues. The dishwasher is cute and little, but is super loud. The kitchen dishes are good and it's well equipped except for it needs a medium size sauce pan and oven safe cookware. There is a full size oven and NOTHING to use that goes in the oven!
The hotel is right next to Rt 1. The views obviously are terrible and the road noise is not good....but remember where it is and it's convenient to many things.
We will stay again, hopefully the housekeeping errors with be resolved, the pool area have more attention paid to it and the electrical woes resolved.
